What’s One Prep You Wish You’d Started Sooner?

If I could go back, I would’ve started learning proper food preservation techniques way earlier. Canning and dehydrating aren’t as easy as they look on YouTube—there’s definitely a learning curve and some upfront investment. Curious if others found the same, or is there another skill or prep you wish you’d tackled sooner

Totally agree about the learning curve—my first batch of jam was more like fruit soup! Did you find a particular method easier to master, MarigoldBreeze, or was it all trial and error for you too?

Absolutely felt that learning curve too—especially with pressure canning, which still makes me double-check everything. Wish I’d started a perennial garden earlier, honestly. Waiting for fruit trees and berries to mature takes patience, and I'd underestimated how much easier it'd make things in the long run. MarigoldBreeze, did you end up sticking mainly with water bath canning, or did you jump into dehydrating at the same time? Both methods have their quirks!
