Anyone Actually Tried Living Off-Grid for a Month?

Has anybody here actually gone fully off-grid for at least a month—no cheating, no grid hookups? Curious what your biggest surprise or “wish I’d known that” moment was, especially around power and keeping the essentials running. Thinking about giving it a shot myself soon.
 
Living fully off-grid for a month was a real eye-opener for me last fall. The biggest surprise? Managing power needs takes way more attention than I expected, even with a decent solar setup. Absolutely agree about the power—overcast weather really messes with solar! Did you have any kind of backup, or just go without till the sun came back?
