Anyone Actually Tried Living Off-Grid for a Month?

Has anyone here actually spent a full month living off-grid, relying just on what you can grow, gather, hunt, or preserve? Curious how the transition really felt after the first week or two. I’ve spent plenty of weekends and week-long stints in my cabin, but never a straight month without a trip to town for “just one thing I forgot.”

What tripped you up most: food fatigue, running water, electricity, boredom? Did you end up missing anything you thought wouldn’t matter, or run out of something you thought you had plenty of? For me, I’d expect herbal teas and tinctures would get me by health-wise, but I do worry about variety and maybe salt or coffee becoming an issue.

Would love to hear about real solutions you came up with, or things you underestimated before starting. Is there something you’d absolutely change next time? Also curious if anyone tried strict barter or no-spend rules as part of the challenge. Real off-grid, not just glamping with a generator
