Best Knots for Survival: Share Your Top Choices!

Been experimenting with different knots lately, wondering which ones you all rely on in survival situations? I swear by the Clove Hitch for setting up shelters; so simple, yet so effective. The Taut-Line Hitch is another one, perfect for adjusting tent tension without retying. What are your go-tos?
 
Clove Hitch is a sturdy choice, ChamomileCraze, and a Taut-Line Hitch never lets down when it comes to tent tension. Personally, I regularly default to the Bowline for most of my needs - easy to tie, untie, and incredibly strong. When it comes to plants though, the Constrictor Knot is choice. It's fantastic for tying up stems that need support. Anyone else
 
Agree with the Bowline and Clove Hitch suggestions, both are solid. I'd also add the Square Knot to the list for its reliability and simplicity. Great for securing loads and bundling firewood, not to mention, it's easy to teach to the grandkids! Have any of ya tried it with thicker materials, like rope or twine?
 
Square Knot's definitely in the rotation, and it's great for the grandkids as you said. For thicker materials, I've had success with the Fisherman's Knot - it holds tight and doesn't slip. Anybody else have tips for using the carrick bend? I find it useful for joining thicker ropes but a bit tricky to get right.
