If someone’s just getting into self-sufficiency, which practical skills would you put at the top—gardening, water purification, basic first aid, or something else? Curious what folks think are truly foundational before moving on to the more advanced stuff.

Water purification jumps to the top of my list. You can get by for a while without a garden, but clean water isn’t optional. After that, basic first aid skills are a must—small injuries can get serious fast if you don’t know what to do. Gardening is super important too, but only once you’ve got water and health covered. Does anyone have a favorite water filtration method that doesn’t break the bank?
