Best Survival Tools: Whats Your Go-To in Emergencies?

Curious what's your survival kit MVP? Mine is a trusty ferro rod - reliable spark, no matter the weather. What's the one tool you wouldn't leave behind?

Can't say no to a good multi-tool, but I swear by a well-stocked first aid kit. As a retired nurse, it's comfort to have bandages, antiseptic wipes, tweezers, painkillers - the whole shebang. Things can go south real quick and it pays to be ready to patch

Absolutely with you on the water purification tablets, can't risk dehydration. Anyone else have a favourite method to purify water?

Can't disagree with you, StarlitAtlas, about the multi-tool. It's been a faithful companion in more than one sticky situation. But, if we're talking about things I wouldn't leave behind, it'd have to be my trusty gardening knife. It's versatile enough for food prep, first aid, and makeshift tent building. Plus, I find comfort having a tool I've used in everyday life, not just emergencies. Anyone else consider their go-to to also be something familiar and comforting?

Can’t go anywhere without my handheld ham radio—staying connected means everything in a crisis. Anyone else keep backup batteries for their radios just in case?
