Best Ways to Store Water Long-Term Without Chemicals?

Looking for advice on storing water long-term without relying on bleach or any chemical treatments. Has anyone had success with methods like glass jugs, ceramic crocks, or stainless steel containers? I’m also curious if rotating water every 6 months is truly necessary if the storage method is airtight and out of sunlight. Any tips on best practices or what’s worked for you would be appreciated. Have had pretty good luck with glass carboys (the ones for winemaking) stored in a dark, cool basement. No chemicals, just a really good scrub and rinse before filling. I do swap the water out every 6-8 months, just in case—never had a funky smell or taste. Stainless steel sounds smart too, but I’d worry about cost for bigger quantities. Anyone tried food

Storing in glass carboys is a classic move, and I’ve relied on them as well—zero issues with taste so far. I still rotate every six months, just to be cautious, but sometimes I think that’s habit as much as necessity. If you’re after chemical-free, glass and stainless are hard to beat, though you’re right about the price when you go big. I’ve used some old crockery jugs, and one trick I picked up was to wax-seal the lids after filling to help keep them airtight
