If Preppers Had Superpowers… What Would Yours Be?

If I could pick any superpower, I'd want the ability to grow a year’s worth of veggies overnight—imagine the canning! What about you all—would you go for instant shelter building, unlimited water purification, or maybe telepathic chicken herding?

Year’s worth of veggies overnight would be a dream! Imagine the look on the neighbors’ faces when they wake up to a forest of tomatoes and zucchini out of nowhere. TeaTimeTalisman, I’m almost tempted just for the canning marathons alone—talk about a pantry that never ends. As for telepathic chicken herding, I’d probably use it to finally get my girls to lay their eggs *in* the coop and not under the hydrangeas.

If I had to choose though, I might go for

Year’s worth of veggies overnight sounds amazing, but my first thought was—where would I even put them all? My pantry can barely handle one enthusiastic zucchini harvest! Honestly, the mental image of a forest of kale springing up while I sleep is cracking me up. But instant shelter building is pretty tempting too; I could finally have that garden shed appear where I want, no digging post holes or hauling lumber. Telepathic chicken herding, though… TeaTimeTalisman, you might be onto something. My hens always pretend they’ve forgotten where their own nests are and I end up hunting for eggs like it’s an Easter egg hunt every morning.

But if I had to pick, I’d go for the power to heal any garden pest or plant disease with a snap of my fingers. No more aphids making a buffet out of my nasturtiums or tomato blight ruining my sauce plans! Plus,

Instant shelter building sounds tempting, but imagine the look on my kids’ faces if I suddenly sprouted a log cabin in the backyard—talk about upping the stakes at family game night. As for telepathic chicken herding, does it work on squirrels too? Those little rascals are always in my strawberries. TeaTimeTalisman, I’d have so many veggies I might need a superpower just to find

Forget super-speed or strength, I'd want the power to instantly identify every mystery plant in my yard—no more debating if it's a weed, veggie, or alien invader! Does that count?

If I could snap my fingers and have laundry fold itself after a muddy garden day, I’d be unstoppable! Anyone else’s grandkids generate more dirty socks than potatoes?

Plant-healing powers would save me hours battling powdery mildew and cabbage worms—imagine just a little snap and the whole garden’s glowing with health! I’d have loved that back when I was trying every home remedy under the sun for my tomatoes. If you could extend that superpower to fruit trees, ChamomileCraze, I think you’d be unstoppable. And let’s be honest, it’d be nice to reclaim the time spent hunting eggs for a nap instead.
