If Prepping Were a Sitcom, What’s the Theme Song?

If prepping was a sitcom, what would the theme song be? Personally, I can’t get the old “Gilligan’s Island” tune out of my head—just imagine: “Sit right back and you’ll hear a tale, a tale of some beans and rice...” Or maybe the “Mission: Impossible” music when trying to open a can with a questionable can opener in the dark.

So, what song would play over your prepping blooper reel? Bonus points if you can rewrite a lyric or two! I vote for “Stayin’ Alive,” since my flashlight batteries always die the minute I need them, and it turns into a disco of me tripping over buckets in the dark. There’s gotta be someone out there who thinks it’s more “Eye of the Tiger” (cue the dramatic bug-out bag packing montage).

What’s the funniest or most fitting theme for your prepping life? Has anyone ever actually written a parody for this? Honestly, if Netflix picks up “Preppers: The Sitcom,” I want to say I helped choose the theme. Hit me with your ideas!

Has to be “I Will Survive”—picture me singing to my tomato plants after the squirrels raid my stash again. Anyone else got a prepping anthem for garden disasters?

Pretty sure mine would be the “Benny Hill” theme—me, chickens, and a runaway wheelbarrow, pure chaos. Anyone else have animals that turn prepping into a circus act?

It’s gotta be the “Green Acres” theme for me—just swap out “farm living” for “pantry filling” and I’m humming it while stacking jars of pickles! Can totally picture a scene with me chasing after squirrels like Mr. Haney trying to wheel and deal for my last tomato. Anyone else ever try singing to their canned goods for good luck before a storm, or am I the only one serenading my shelves?

Can’t get “Movin’ On Up” from The Jeffersons outta my head, but it’d be more like, “Movin’ On Up… to the root cellar, got myself some beans and rice!” Half the comedy here is me trying to carry five-gallon buckets of oats down the cellar stairs without losing my balance (or my dignity).

Honestly, my prepping playlist has to include the theme from “The Great Escape.” That’s the sound that plays when
