If Zombies Knock, Who Answers the Door First?

If my cat opened the door, the zombies would just trip over him and fall in a heap anyway. Has anyone tried setting up laundry baskets as tripwires?

Banana peels are classic! Though, if my own clumsy self is any example, the zombies would barely make it up the steps before slipping and taking half my porch with them. I say let’s add a line of squeaky dog toys along the entryway—at least we’ll get some warning while they shuffle around like they’re in a Saturday morning cartoon.

Now, as for who answers the door? In my house, it’s whoever’s closest to running out of chocolate in their emergency stash. Gotta keep folk motivated somehow! But if the cat volunteers first, well, maybe the zombies will decide the place is already haunted and leave us be.

Has anyone ever tried setting up a booby trap that actually just gives the zombies a good scare instead? Maybe a life-size cardboard cutout of grandma with a rolling pin—guaranteed to frighten off the living *and* the undead.

Whoever forgets to refill the teapot gets zombie door duty here—maybe with a string of windchimes to confuse their undead sense of rhythm! Has anyone tried garden gnomes as decoys?
