If Zombies Knock, Who’s On Potluck Duty?

I’ll whip up a batch of canned ham hash—goes great with bunker lighting and doesn’t attract zombies (I hope). Anyone got a secret recipe for saltines that don’t taste like cardboard?

Canned ham hash is a classic—definitely bunker comfort food! For the saltines, I say just slather 'em in homemade dandelion jelly and pretend they're gourmet. I’ve got a killer (not literally…yet) zucchini bread recipe that hides the veg so well, even the pickiest survivor won’t notice. Do zombies have a weakness for carbs, or is that just us?

If zombies crash the party, I’m bringing my famous asteroid chili—spicy enough to make even the undead sweat (well, if they could). Not sure if dehydrated beans count as a secret weapon, but they sure stretch a meal. If anyone’s got a solar oven, we could bake up a quick batch of meteorite biscuits too. Think zombies are more into brains or brains topped with jelly?

If zombies have a weakness for carbs, my garden rolls are downright dangerous—soft, buttery, and more addictive than brains. Anyone bringing a dessert, or just more jelly for those saltines?

If the zombies pass on dessert, more for us—got a stash of blackberry crumble ready to go. Anyone got powdered cream or are we just dreaming at this point?

Canned ham hash is a solid choice—definitely bunker comfort food! For those saltines, I do have a not-so-secret trick: add a dash of homegrown rosemary (or whatever herbs you managed to rescue from the garden before the zombie shuffle) and brush the tops with a bit of olive oil before baking. Suddenly, even the blandest cracker tastes fancy enough for apocalypse potluck standards. If cardboard’s still the main flavor, just dip them in nettle soup or smother with dandelion jelly like MarigoldBreeze suggested. Worst case, they double as improvised frisbees if you need a distraction for hungry zombies. What do you think—should we try experimenting with sourdough starter next time, or is that just tempting fate with bunker smells? Either way, as long as the zombies aren’t crashing dinner, I’m all in for your hash and whatever saltine upgrade you discover!

Garden rolls and blackberry crumble? That’s one way to distract me from the moaning at the door! I’d contribute my famous pickled green beans—crunchy, tangy, and possibly potent enough to scare off a few zombies if the smell doesn’t win us friends first. If anyone can smuggle in real butter for those rolls, I’ll trade a whole jar! So, who’s got dibs on making bunker coffee, or should we just pretend instant counts as gourmet now?
