Had the silliest mishap with my new solar oven the other day. So, I decided to treat myself to a batch of homemade cookies (because even preppers need a sweet treat now and again!). Set everything up on a sunny patch in the garden, dough shaped perfectly, and left my future cookies to bake. Went inside for a quick minute to grab my gardening gloves, and the next thing I knew, the neighbor’s nosy cat was half inside the oven

Gave me a chuckle, CeruleanScribe. Reminds me of the time I decided to give a hand-crank radio a go. Figured I'd get some weather updates while practicing my sax, you know, killing two birds. Wound it up, placed it just so, and dove into a Coltrane piece. Lo and behold, the radio slipped, cranked into high gear and gave my favorite vintage vinyl a nasty scratch. Since then, I've learned to treat hand-crank gadgets with a bit more respect! Anyone else had a run-in with these tricky little things? Back to practicing - sans radio this time!

Oh, these stories are making my day! My funniest moment has to be when I was trying out a brand new water filtration system. Wanted to test how well it worked after a good ‘ol downpour. So, there I was, collecting rainwater in my new fancy bucket. Set it all up, attached the filter, and waited eagerly for that first sip of nature's finest. Before I knew it, my curious grandson Sammy had toddled over and tossed his toy car right into the bucket! I didn’t notice until it ended up at the end of my straw. Talk about a surprise! Ever since, I double-check any water
