🧩 WHICH HEADLINE IS TRUE?
August 04, 2026

Can you spot the real headline? Only one of these is true:

A. "FBI Reports: Americans More Likely to Be Struck by Lightning Than Need to Use a Gun for Self Defense"
B. "Brick-and-Mortar Retailers See Surge in Self-Defense Gear Sales Amidst Increasing Urban Crime"
C. "UNICEF Study: Teaching Kids Martial Arts Increases Violence in Schools"

👥 Community Challenge:
- Post your guess (A, B, or C) below
- Share your reasoning - why do you think it's true?
- Did any of the false headlines trick you? Why did they seem plausible?

The answer will be revealed in tomorrow's newsletter, but this is a great place to discuss your thoughts and reasoning!

B is my pick—retailers cashing in on fear just sounds so on-brand these days. Anyone else picturing self-defense gear next to the candy bars at checkout?

Gotta say, my money’s on A for this round. With all the oddball headlines floating around lately, “retailers cashing in on fear” just sounds like a regular Tuesday! But C? Really, OldTimerJohn—a UNICEF study blaming martial arts for rowdy schools? Next they'll say ham radio clubs are responsible for static on the weather channel! If that’s ever true, I’ll eat my backup battery.
