New Shops and Restaurants Planned for Loudoun County Center

A new shopping center in Loudoun County has named its first group of planned businesses. The development, called the Shops at Arcola, is being built near Loudoun County Parkway and Dulles West Boulevard, a short distance north of Route 50.

The site is familiar to nearby residents as the open land around a Target store that opened there last year. Now, the developer has shared a list of businesses that have agreed to join the project. The lineup includes places to eat, shops, personal services, a credit union, and a dental office.

Restaurants and Shops Join the Project

Several of the first planned tenants will serve food. The center is set to include a restaurant known for steakburgers and frozen custard, along with a separate restaurant focused on grilled dishes and wood-fired cooking. Another restaurant will offer a mix of wine and food.

Shoppers will also have a planned stop for chocolate and gelato. A pet bakery is on the tenant list as well, offering a place for customers to shop for dog treats. For personal care, the project is expected to include a nail salon.

The announced businesses also include a local financial institution and a dental care office. Together, the tenants represent several kinds of everyday services, in addition to the restaurants and specialty shops.

  • A steakburger and frozen-custard restaurant
  • A restaurant serving grilled and wood-fired dishes
  • A restaurant featuring wine and food
  • A chocolate and gelato shop
  • A bakery selling treats for dogs
  • A nail salon
  • A credit union
  • A dental office

Grocery Store Planned as the Main Tenant

An organic grocery store is also planned for the center. It is expected to serve as the development’s anchor tenant, meaning it would be a major store that helps draw shoppers to the site.

The grocery store’s identity has not been confirmed. The announced plans establish that an organic food market is expected, but they do not name the operator. That leaves a key detail about the center still unanswered.

More Storefronts Still Available

The current site plan includes space for as many as 17 more retail businesses beyond those already announced. The future tenants for those spaces have not been named, so the final mix of shops and services could grow as more businesses join the project.

That open space leaves room for a broader range of businesses than the first list shows. However, no additional tenants are confirmed in the information released so far. The present lineup gives an early picture of the center, not a complete list of everything that may eventually open there.

Construction Start Has Not Been Set

No official construction start has been announced. Developers commonly wait until a number of businesses have signed leases, including major tenants, before beginning work. The newly announced group may bring the project closer to that point, but there is no confirmed start date or construction schedule.

For people who live nearby, the new tenant list offers a clearer view of what may take shape around the existing store. The planned center is expected to bring together dining, specialty shopping, personal services, financial services, and grocery shopping in one location.

The main details are clear: several businesses have signed on, an organic grocery store is planned as the anchor, and up to 17 retail spaces still have no announced tenants. The construction timeline and the grocery store’s identity remain unknown.
