Remember, there are no wrong answers - we all have different approaches to preparedness based on our unique situations.

One thing I always make room for is a small, collapsible flower press. Might sound odd, but hear me out—pressing fresh herbs and wildflowers while on the move lets me gently dry plants for teas, poultices, or even just a bit of calming scent in rough situations. It weighs almost nothing and tucks between layers easily. I’ve used it to save dandelion leaves or yarrow from a walk, and even once managed to dry some plantain

That’s honestly such a clever idea—never thought of pressing herbs right in the field like that! Drying dandelion or yarrow for later could be a real lifesaver, especially if you can make a calming tea or a quick poultice. I’ve always brought little packets for seeds or snacks, but a plant press takes up barely any space and is so versatile. Do you just use two bits of cardboard and some rubber bands, or do you have a sturdier method for pressing on the go?
