A high-ranking American diplomat has strongly condemned the actions of a group of settlers who surrounded and blocked the home of an American-Palestinian family. The trouble began when a crowd gathered around the property in a small village called Qusra. For days, those inside the house were subjected to constant harassment. The owner of the home, Lou Ridi, currently lives in Ohio but kept in close contact with his relatives who were staying at the property. As the conflict escalated, soldiers arrived in the area to restore order. The military took action by tearing down two unauthorized camps that had been set up by settlers on the edges of the village. During the operation, one person was detained by authorities.
