Utah Court Orders Reality TV Star and Former Boyfriend to Keep Distance
A ruling was issued by a Utah judge, enforcing that two reality TV personalities, a woman and her ex-boyfriend, must stay away from each other. This decision was made after both parties had filed protective orders against one another.
The judge mandated that the order would last for three years, asserting that the two individuals must remain at least 100 feet apart. The ruling also included a warning about potential criminal charges should either party violate the conditions of the order.
Mutual Orders: A Necessity
The judge expressed his concern about the necessity of having mutual orders. He felt that if the order was not applied to both parties, more problems may arise. He addressed both the TV star and her ex-boyfriend, expressing his hope that they wouldn't get drawn into unnecessary drama and conflict. His goal was to help them regain some sense of normalcy.
The judge emphasized that both parties needed to stay away from each other and that violating this decree would result in consequences. He believed that they still have an attraction to one another, whether physical or otherwise, which could potentially lead to further complications.
First Public Appearance Since Domestic Violence Allegations
This court hearing marked the first time the two individuals have been seen together in public since allegations of domestic violence surfaced. Both the TV star, aged 31, and her ex-boyfriend, 33, appeared in court for the hearing.
In the weeks prior to this ruling, the ex-boyfriend had been granted custody of their son, with the TV star being allowed supervised visits of up to eight hours per week. This arrangement will remain in place until the judge gives further recommendations on parental time.
Upcoming Review Hearing
Another hearing is scheduled for June, once assessments related to mental health and domestic violence have been completed for both parties. These assessments were ordered by child protective services as part of a safety plan.
The TV star's lawyer spoke about the hearing, labeling it as a "significant step forward". He pointed out that the star admitted her imperfections to the court and is looking forward to cooperating further to progress in the custody case.
Ongoing Investigation
The pair have been the subject of an investigation concerning several allegations of violence during altercations in February and a separate incident. Subsequently, both parties filed protective orders against each other. However, the decision to press charges against the woman was declined due to insufficient evidence.
Impact on TV Shows
The tumultuous relationship between the former couple has had noticeable effects on their TV careers. Production of their reality show was halted, and another show which featured the woman was also shelved. However, production for the reality show has reportedly resumed without the involvement of the two personalities. The future of the other show remains uncertain.
