What’s in Your Everyday Carry Bag Right Now?

Everyday carry gets tweaked with the seasons, but right now mine’s pretty standard: small IFAK (Israeli bandage, gloves, shears, QuikClot pad), flashlight, multitool, backup phone battery, whistle, and a basic water filter straw. I keep a laminated list of family contacts in case the phone’s dead. Thinking about adding a few OTC meds—wondering what you all consider essential for EDC first aid? Also, how do you avoid overloading your bag? Mine’s starting to feel like a brick again.

Really relate to the struggle with bag weight—mine gets heavy fast, especially hauling around extra batteries for my little solar charger. For first aid, I stick to just a few basics: antihistamines (tiny zip bag), a couple ibuprofen, and some adhesive bandages, plus a mini tube of antibiotic ointment. Keeping the bag manageable is definitely a challenge, especially when you want to be ready for all the “what ifs.” I tend to keep my first aid kit simple: just a roll of self-adhesive wrap, a few bandages, small scissors, tweezers (for slivers and such), mini pack of Tylenol and Benadryl, and a few alcohol wipes. Instead of the full-size ointments or creams, I have those tiny single-use packets—they save a lot of space
