What’s In Your Everyday Carry Bag These Days?

Curious what folks are actually carrying in their EDC bags lately, especially with supply chain hiccups and all these weird weather events. I’ve updated mine to include a compact trauma kit, some basic meds, a water filter straw, multitool, and a small solar charger for my phone. Definitely noticing my kit gets heavier every year. Has anyone found a lighter alternative to bulky first aid kits without sacrificing essentials? Would love to hear what gear others

Lately I’ve swapped my bulky first aid kit for a small tin with just gauze pads, a few wound-closure strips, and calendula salve I make myself—it’s surprising how much space that saves. I also keep some dried yarrow in a tiny pouch; it’s old-school but works for minor bleeding. Can’t go without my multitool and a pocket herbal guide either. Has anyone tried one of those foldable water bottles? Wondering if they hold up over time.

That compact trauma kit is a smart update, considering all the odd weather lately. I also keep a water filter straw, but mine’s attached to a collapsible cup so I’m not limited to just bottles. The solar charger’s a great idea—I’ve been meaning to add one, since phone batteries never last when you actually need them. What basic meds do you pack? I’m always torn between tossing in extras and keeping things light.

Really appreciate the compact kit ideas—those bulky pre-mades always take up too much space. I’ve trimmed mine down to just wound care basics, a small sewing kit, and a few aspirin. The little herbal salves are a smart touch! Been carrying a foldable water pouch for

Totally get the struggle—my “must-have” is a small pillbox with daily meds and a few antihistamines, but it’s tough not to overpack. Ever tried those single-use antibiotic ointment packets?

Been slimming my EDC lately—too easy to overpack and my back isn’t getting any younger. I keep a tiny notebook and pencil (habit from my library days), a mini multitool, and a small roll of medical tape instead of a bulky kit. Those foldable water bottles hold up better than you’d think! Anyone found a compact flashlight that actually lasts more than a week on one battery?
