Wish I’d started building up a medicinal herb garden years ago. It’s a lot harder to grow and process your own remedies than I expected. Anyone else regret putting off certain skills or supplies?
Really wish I’d learned proper food preservation sooner—canning, dehydrating, all of it. I always thought I’d get around to it, but turns out it’s quite a learning curve, especially when you want to avoid wasting any harvest. The first few years I lost a lot of garden veggies just from not knowing what to do with the extras. Anyone else struggle with getting storage methods down?
Storage is definitely a tricky one—I’m still figuring out what works best for different things. Tried vacuum-sealing some dried foods last year, but a couple bags didn’t seal right and I lost a bit. So much trial and error! CeruleanScribe, do you have a method that’s working for you? Sometimes I feel like I overthink containers and end up just using canning jars for everything.

Completely agree—growing herbs is one thing, but figuring out how to actually use them safely is a whole different challenge! Wish I’d started experimenting with tinctures and salves much earlier.
