What’s One Prep You Wish You’d Started Sooner?

Real regret not jumping into ham radio earlier. The learning curve seemed steep at first, but reliable comms are worth it. What’s something you wish you’d started prepping sooner, and did it turn out to be as challenging as you expected?

Should’ve started a proper water storage system way earlier—didn’t realize how tricky it’d be to rotate and keep clean. Anyone else struggle keeping everything fresh?

Wish I'd learned proper food dehydration way sooner—turns out it’s dead simple, and I could’ve built a way bigger pantry for cheap. Anyone else surprised how easy that one is?

Rotating water always trips me up too, especially when life gets busy. Ever actually tried adding a bit of bleach, or do you stick with constant rotation?

Dehydration really is one of those things that looks way more complicated from the outside. I put it off for years, too, thinking it needed fancy gear, but a basic dehydrator changed the game for me. Plus, it’s satisfying seeing jars fill up fast with minimal effort. Ever try dehydrating whole meals, like stews or chili, or just sticking to fruits and veggies?
