What’s One Prep You Wish You’d Started Sooner?
Looking back, I really wish I’d gotten serious about water storage and purification much earlier. Had all the food and gear lined up, but I underestimated just how fast drinkable water can run out, even in a short-term disruption. Ended up scrambling to catch up—bought a Berkey, started collecting rainwater, and experimented with some old creek filtration methods. The learning curve was steeper than expected, and I ran into a few hiccups with algae and storage container quality.
Curious to know, what’s the one prep you wish you’d started sooner? Maybe it’s skill-based like preserving food, or more gear-focused like comms or solar. Any lessons you learned the hard way that might help someone who’s just starting to build up that aspect? Figure there’s always something to add or improve, no matter how long you’ve been at it.
