What’s the Most Overlooked Item in Your Bug Out Bag?
When I go through bug out bag checklists, I keep noticing the same items over and over—water, fire starters, knives, first aid. But from what I’ve seen teaching first aid classes, so many people forget to pack extra prescription meds or even just basic pain relievers and antidiarrheals. Just one day without those and things can go downhill fast, especially under stress.
On a similar note, I rarely see anyone mention a pair of sturdy work gloves. I learned the hard way clearing brush and debris that even a small cut or blister can turn nasty out in the field. Do you all pack spares? Or has anyone found a specific brand that holds up for the long haul?
Curious what other “minor” essentials people have ended up needing in real emergencies
