What’s The One Prep You Wish You’d Done Sooner?
Looking back over the years, I honestly wish I’d started rainwater collection much sooner. I always focused on growing and preserving food, but it took a couple of dry summers to realize just how vulnerable I was on the water front. Getting those barrels set up, plus a few basic filters and a system for storage, took a load off my mind. Not to mention, it’s a huge help for the garden—no more worrying when restrictions hit.
Curious if others have had similar “aha” moments? What’s the prep you regret putting off, and how did you finally get it done? I’m especially interested in any less obvious projects that made a big difference once you finally implemented them. Sometimes it’s easy to focus on the basics (food, water, first aid), but the little things can blindside you.
