What’s Your Go-To Item for a 72-Hour Kit?
When I'm reviewing my 72-hour kit, I always end up going back to my portable solar charger as the one item I absolutely won’t do without. Being able to keep small electronics going off-grid—like my emergency radio, phone, or even a compact flashlight—gives me a real edge, especially when traditional power is down. There’s a lot of debate about weight vs. usefulness, but in my experience, a solid solar charger justifies its place, even if it adds a few ounces.
Curious what everyone’s "must-have" is for their own 72-hour setup. Is there something you won't leave out, no matter how tight space is? Not talking about the obvious water & first aid—wondering about your one specialized item that maybe others overlook or don't talk about much. Bonus points if it serves multiple purposes or ties into off-grid power or sustainability, since that's a big deal for me. Looking forward to hearing what others prioritize.
