When something goes sideways, I always seem to reach for my headlamp first. Hands-free light makes such a difference, whether I'm rummaging in the pantry during a blackout or checking sump pumps in the basement. The newer ones are lightweight, rechargeable, and the batteries last a good while

A headlamp really does make things so much easier, especially when you need both hands free or are poking around under the sink during a power outage. I keep one by the back door and another in my nightstand just in case. Have you found a particular brand that holds up well over time? Some of the cheaper ones I've tried just eat through batteries way too fast, which can be frustrating in a pinch.
