What’s Your Go-To Low-Tech Water Purification Method?

Boiling is always my first choice when it comes to purifying water, but I’m curious what other low-tech methods folks actually rely on when boiling isn’t an option. Has anyone had consistent luck with solar stills or homemade bio-sand filters? I’ve practiced using coffee filters to remove debris before treating with bleach drops, but I’d love to know what tried-and-true methods work best for you, especially in off-grid situations. Coffee filters are great for getting the gunk out, but like you mentioned, they don’t actually purify—just remove the big stuff. I’ve put a lot of faith in bio-sand filters over the years, especially for longer-term situations.
