What’s Your Go-To Skill for Total Grid Failure?

When the grid goes down, my first instinct is always to fall back on medical skills—quick triage, wound care, basic infection control. It’s amazing how fast a small injury can turn serious with no ER to run to. I’m curious what skills others here see as absolutely essential when there’s no power or outside help. Do you focus more on water purification, food preservation, security, or something else?

Water’s always my top concern—filtering, boiling, even old-school rain catchment. You can’t last long without it. Has anyone actually had to rely on stream water for weeks?
