If the grid goes down for good, what’s the single skill you fall back on first? For me, it’s basic medical care. I’ve seen so many injuries get worse just because folks don’t know wound care or infection control. But I know some folks focus more on water filtration, food preservation, or defense. Curious what everyone else prioritizes skill-wise—what do you feel most confident about, and what’s on your list to improve?

Always figured gardening is my main fallback. If you can coax food from the dirt, you've got a foundation right there, especially if supply lines are down for good. Been practicing seed saving and crop rotation, but I know I need to get sharper with water filtration—plants and people both depend on it. Anyone here ever tried DIY sand filters for drinking water? Wondering how reliable those really are.
