Every time I go through my gear, I realize I rarely see folks mention needle and dental floss—not just thread. It’s lightweight, strong, and super versatile. What’s an item you rarely hear discussed but wouldn’t want to be without when it counts?

I hardly ever see folks mention vinegar. It’s not flashy but works for cleaning, preserving food, deodorizing, even a mild disinfectant in a pinch. Tiny bottle, tons of uses. Can’t count the number of times plain old vinegar’s saved the day in the garden or around the house. Anyone else stash multi-use basics like that, or is it all about the gadgets for most?
