What’s Your Most Overlooked Prep Item?

I keep noticing folks focus on the big ticket items, but sometimes it’s the simple things that slip through the cracks. For me, I’d say a basic sewing kit is easily overlooked—especially heavy-duty needles and thread. You can patch up clothes, gear, even shoes, and it hardly takes up any space. What do you all think gets missed most often? Any item you once forgot, then realized you really needed?

Absolutely agree about the sewing kit—those heavy-duty needles have saved my bacon more than once, especially with grandkids tearing through jeans. Another thing I always overlooked were reading glasses (cheap extras in every kit). It’s no good having instructions, maps, or fine work to do if you can’t see properly! Funny how the smallest fixes can turn into the biggest frustrations if you don’t have the right tool at hand.
