Can’t go without petroleum jelly—uses for first aid, waterproofing, even starting fires. Anyone else stash old-fashioned remedies like that, or am I the only one clinging to grandma’s tricks?

Old remedies are gold. Baking soda is my must-have—cleans, deodorizes, even helps with indigestion. Folks talk about big-ticket gadgets, but I’d really hate to be without a box or two of that stuff. Anyone else keep basic pantry items for more than just cooking

Absolutely with you on the multi-use staples—baking soda’s a classic. I’d toss in bar soap, too. It lasts forever, takes care of personal hygiene, laundry, and even keeps pests at bay if you shave a bit into garden beds.
