Best Ways to Store Water Long-Term?

Been reviewing my own water storage setup and realized I could use some fresh insight from folks who’ve been doing this for a while. I’ve mostly relied on 55-gallon food-grade barrels with water treatment drops, rotating every six months or so. Lately I’m wondering how necessary frequent rotation really is if you’re using

If the barrels are sealed tight and you use proper treatment drops, I honestly don’t think you need to rotate every six months. Anyone test water after a year or two?
