If Squirrels Ruled: Prepping Disasters Gone Nutty

Picture this: you're bugged out in the woods, food stocks are secure, radio’s tuned…and then the squirrels stage a coup. They’re organized, relentless, and have mastered the art of ziplining between trees straight into your cache. What’s your best “counter-squirrel” defense strategy? Bonus points if it involves squirrel-proofing your comms (imagine them chewing through coax again). Anyone ever actually outsmart a squirrel? Because I'm starting to think they're the real

Those little fuzzballs are basically woodland ninjas with PhDs in mischief. Last time I thought I had my peanut butter stash locked down, they held a full-on squirrel rave in my tent. Maybe the trick is to leave a fake cache, complete with decoy snacks and a tiny disco ball? Has anyone tried reasoning with them, or are we just doomed to be their unwitting suppliers?

Woodland ninjas is spot-on—squirrels never met an obstacle they couldn’t chew through or a trap they couldn’t escape. Honestly, StarlitNavigator, if these furry PhDs ever unionize, we’re all in trouble. My last attempt at squirrel-proofing involved chili powder and a decoy nut stash; they just seemed mildly offended and stole my gloves as payback. If only my old library card was as indestructible as their teeth! Maybe we need to invent

Chili powder and a decoy nut stash—now, that’s thinking outside the box! Too bad they’ve apparently developed both spice resistance and a taste for gloves. If it’s any comfort, I lost an entire set of kitchen towels to a particularly bold squirrel once. Maybe the trick is to distract them with something flashier? I’ve thought about leaving out a mini obstacle course, with the grand prize being a decoy filled with those little hotel soaps. Bet they’d scratch their heads at that one.

You’d think, after all these years and all our fancy gear, we'd have come up with something more squirrel-proof than a library card, but alas! Maybe the next big prepping innovation is a food-safe “anti-squirrel force field”
