What’s In Your Bug-Out Bag These Days?

It seems like every year I review my bug-out bag and rethink what really earns a spot. Lately, I’ve been wondering how others are striking the right balance between essentials and weight. My pack has the usuals—water filter, small med kit, multitool—but I realized I was missing backup fire-starting methods besides a lighter and ferro rod, so just added some char cloth and storm matches.

One area I keep stressing over is food. I’ve packed some freeze-dried meals, but I’m tempted to swap in more calorie-dense options like nut butter or energy bars to save space and avoid too much prep. Also curious if anyone’s got good recommendations for compact solar chargers that hold up

Nut butter’s a great space-saver, but I’d still keep a couple freeze-dried meals for variety; nothing like a warm soup after a long day. Anyone tried the solar charger from Anker? Mine’s held up surprisingly well so far.
