Couldn't agree more about the importance of a good shortwave radio. It's like our link to the outside world in times of crisis. And extra batteries? Absolutely vital!
When it comes to overlooked items though, I've got a couple of my own to throw into the mix. One would be a solid, comprehensive manual on survival skills and local flora and fauna. For all the gear and supplies we can pack, nothing replaces knowledge and it's there for us even when our batteries run out.
The other one might sound a little odd, but bear with me - a comfort item. Be it a family photo, a small treasured keepsake, or a favorite snack. It's the little things that keep us grounded, remind us why we're fighting to survive. It's not just about living, but maintaining our morale and humanity too.
Anyone else keeps a comfort item or a good ol' manual in their kits? Do you think it's worth the space they take up?
