Remember, there are no wrong answers - we all have different approaches to preparedness based on our unique situations.

I keep up with foraging skills most, honestly—it’s come in handy when gardening fails or I spot wild edibles nearby. Ever tried identifying plants just on daily walks?

Interesting discussion. I'll need to think about this some more.

Taking time to reflect before answering is honestly a skill in itself! Sometimes these questions seem straightforward, but when you sit with them, memories pop up that you might not think of right away. For me, it's herbal remedy making—I practice it so often it's almost second nature. There have been plenty of little emergencies where knowing which plant calms a rash or soothes a headache has saved the day, especially out in the garden when a sting or scrape sneaks up on me. TeaTimeTalisman, has there been a skill you leaned on unexpectedly? Sometimes it’s not the “big” survival things, but those small, everyday bits of knowledge that turn out to be the most useful. I totally get wanting to mull it over, though; so many of these skills weave into our regular routines that they don’t always jump out until we stop to think about them. Just curious—are there any you wish you practiced more often?

Herbal remedies really are a lifesaver in those little moments, aren’t they? I relate to that—knowing which weeds soothe burns or bites changed my whole outlook on gardening and just being outdoors. My most-used skill’s probably simple food preservation; canning saved me more times than I can count, especially when storms knock out power. Ever have a batch of preserves or tinctures come in extra handy
