What’s Your Go-To Skill for Off-Grid Living?

When it comes to living off-grid, I always fall back on simple water purification methods—boiling and solar stills especially. Curious what everyone else relies on most? If you had to pick just one core skill, which would it be for long-term sustainability?
 
For me, growing and preserving food tops the list—if you can’t eat, nothing else matters much. Anyone else still learning new ways to store garden produce?
