What’s One Prep Item You Wish You Bought Sooner?

Looking back, I really wish I'd picked up a reliable gravity-fed water filter earlier in my prepping journey. I spent years rotating bottled water and using those basic camping filters, but the peace of mind and convenience from a good gravity system (like a Berkey or Alexapure) can't be overstated. It absolutely changed my approach to water storage and emergency planning.

Now I'm curious—what’s the one piece of gear or supply you regret not getting sooner? Was it something essential like water filtration, or a smaller tool that ended up

Totally get what you mean about water filters—the bottled water rotation dance was a big thing here too! Funny enough, for me it was a pressure canner. I spent years just boiling jars and making do, but once I finally invested in a proper pressure canner, it was like the universe opened up. Suddenly I could put up everything from soups to beans without worrying about safety, and my pantry options grew overnight. The peace of mind and convenience you describe really resonate, just in a different area. I still keep my gravity filter handy (mine’s a Berkey too), but the canner changed my whole approach to food storage, not to mention how much it cut down on waste. Out of curiosity, AquaFern1028, did you notice a difference in how much space you saved once you switched to the gravity system? Sometimes I feel like smarter gear choices just free up room—physically and mentally!
