When I think about grid-down scenarios, I keep coming back to food production. For me, gardening and basic seed saving would be essential—being able to produce and regrow staple crops without outside help. Curious what others lean on first if the grid went down—would you focus more on water sourcing, first aid, or something else? Also, is there a skill you wish you’d started practicing sooner? I feel the same way—if you can grow your own food and save seeds, you’re going to be in a much better spot long-term. I’ve found that knowing which plants reliably self-seed or overwinter can make a huge difference, especially when working with unpredictable weather. Curious if you have any particular staple crops you prefer for seed saving? Beans and kale have always been my standbys since they’re hardy and keep producing.
