Drone and Missile Strikes Kill Five in Russia and Damage Industrial Sites

Attacks in several parts of Russia killed five people and injured others. The strikes also damaged homes, cars, public buildings, businesses, and an industrial facility. A separate attack in Ukraine targeted a cargo ship and logistics sites, according to Russia’s Defense Ministry. That account could not be independently confirmed, and Ukraine did not immediately comment.

Damage Across Belgorod

An overnight attack in the city of Belgorod killed three people and injured 13. The city is near Russia’s border with Ukraine. The strike caused damage across homes and other parts of the city.

The reported damage included 30 apartment buildings and 35 cars. Four houses, three administrative buildings, eight commercial properties, and three social facilities were also damaged. These figures cover a wide range of places used for housing, work, business, and public services.

A separate drone strike took place in the village of Voznesenovka, near the town of Shebekino. One person was killed and another was injured when a drone hit a car there. Together, the two incidents in the Belgorod region killed four people.

Industrial Site Hit in Perm

A drone attack damaged an industrial facility in Russia’s Perm region, in the Ural Mountains. Five workers were injured. Emergency crews went to the site, and the injured workers received medical care.

The type of damage at the facility was not described. No further details about the industrial site were provided.

Fatal Strike in Lipetsk

A strike on an industrial zone in the city of Yelets, in the Lipetsk region, killed a security guard and injured a paramedic. The guard worked at one of the industrial facilities in the area.

The paramedic worked at a medical center and was taken to a hospital for treatment. The facility struck in the industrial zone was not identified. The attack brought the reported death toll in the Lipetsk region to one.

Russian Claims About Targets in Ukraine

Russia’s Defense Ministry said Russian drones struck a cargo vessel headed for the Black Sea port of Chornomorsk. The ministry claimed the ship was being used to bring supplies to the Ukrainian army. That claim could not be independently verified.

The ministry also said Russian forces hit three logistics sites in the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv: a logistics center, a distribution center, and a logistics terminal. It described the sites as places used to store and distribute goods that could serve both civilian and military purposes.

The claims about the ship and the Kharkiv sites could not be independently confirmed. Ukraine had not issued an immediate response to the reported strike in Yelets.

Reported Toll and Damage

The attacks described in Russia caused deaths and injuries in three regions. In Belgorod, four people were killed and 14 were injured across two incidents. In Perm, five workers were injured. In Lipetsk, one person was killed and a paramedic was injured.

Damage in Belgorod extended beyond the locations where people were killed or hurt. Apartment buildings, houses, vehicles, administrative offices, businesses, and social facilities were all affected. In Perm, the reported damage centered on an industrial facility, while the exact site struck in Yelets was not named.
