If you have to bug out in under five minutes, what's the one item you absolutely won't leave without? Personally, I grab my med kit first—can’t go anywhere without basic first aid. Would love to know what tops everyone else’s list.

First thing I’m reaching for is my sturdy pair of walking shoes, believe it or not. I’ve been in situations where gear was packed but people ended up with awful blisters or worse because they took off in sandals or old sneakers. With good shoes, you’ve got a shot at getting somewhere safely—doesn’t matter what else you bring if you can’t walk there. My bug-out bag sits right by the door, but my favorite trail runners are next to it
